Ringlock Scaffolding Ledger
Engineered to international standards for safety, speed and durability on every job site.
Overview
The Ringlock Scaffolding Ledger — often called a ringlock horizontal, ledger bearer or transom ledger — is the horizontal load-carrying member that spans between two ringlock standards in a ringlock scaffolding system. Each end is fitted with a cast or welded ledger head carrying a hammer-driven wedge that hooks into the standard's rosette and locks the bay rigidly at any bay width, while the tube itself carries the working platform and its live load across the span.

Key Features
- Horizontal member — spans between two ringlock standards
- Wedge-lock ledger head locks into the 8-way rosette
- Ø48.3×3.0 mm high-strength steel tube
- Optional integral transom for plank / board support
- Standard bay lengths 0.63–3.05 m
- Hot-dip galvanized Q345/S355, EN 12810 / AS/NZS
On the job, a ledger pins between two standards to set the bay width and form the horizontal grid of the scaffold; its wedge head snaps into the rosette's small holes and stays tight under load, so decks, steel planks and side brackets rest directly on the ledger or on its integral transom without extra couplers. Ledgers are made from Ø48.3×3.0 mm high-strength steel tube and offered in standard bay lengths — 0.63, 0.91, 1.065, 1.21, 1.52, 1.82, 2.13, 2.43 and 3.05 m — with an optional welded transom for board support and double-ledger (reinforced) versions for heavy or cantilevered bays. Like the rest of the system, the ringlock ledger is hot-dip galvanized Q345/S355 steel, built to EN 12810 / EN 12811, ANSI and AS/NZS, with ISO 9001 quality and FOB Shanghai delivery from ACE SCAFFOLD.
The ledger sets the bay. Its length fixes the bay width and, with the diagonal brace, the geometry of the whole scaffold bay — short ledgers give tight, high-capacity grids; long ledgers open the bay for large deck spans.
Ledger Head & Wedge Lock
Each ledger end carries a forged or welded ledger head with a captive wedge. The head drops onto the standard's rosette and the wedge is driven home with a hammer, locking the connection so it cannot loosen under live load or wind. This is the same 8-way rosette node the standard provides — ledgers use the four small holes, braces use the four large holes.
Ledger with Transom
Many ringlock ledgers carry an integral transom — a perpendicular bar welded mid-span that supports steel planks, boards and side brackets directly, removing the need for separate transom bearers. For heavy or cantilevered bays a double ledger (two tubes welded in parallel) doubles the support capacity.
Steel & Finish
Ledgers are rolled from Q345/S355 high-strength steel (Ø48.3×3.0 mm) and hot-dip galvanized for long service in site, coastal and offshore conditions with little maintenance. Welds follow AWS D1.1 for clean, flat, seamless joints.
