Overview

The Ringlock Scaffolding Side Bracket — often called a board bracket, knee-out or hop-up bracket — is the arm that reaches a working platform out past the edge of a ringlock scaffold tower. It clips into the rosette on a standard and cantilevers one, two or three scaffold planks sideways, so crews can work close to a wall or building face where the main scaffold cannot be built directly against the working surface.

On site, a side bracket is the simplest way to push a platform outward without moving the whole scaffold. The bracket drops into the rosette with the standard ringlock wedge connection and cantilevers the plank deck past the tower edge, letting crews paint, render, fix cladding or inspect a façade from a few centimetres off the surface. Side brackets come sized to the plank width — 1-board (0.31 m / 1'0"), 2-board (0.65 m / 2'2") and 3-board (0.88 m / 2'10") — so a single bracket sets one, two or three planks. For hook-on steel planks the bracket carries the plank directly; where timber or plain-end metal decks are used, a hop-up seat version holds the board. Like the rest of the system, the ringlock side bracket is hot-dip galvanized Q345/S355 steel, built to EN 12810 / EN 12811, ANSI, AS/NZS 1576 and OSHA (designed and tested to a 4:1 safety factor), with ISO 9001 quality and FOB Shanghai delivery from ACE SCAFFOLD.

The side bracket reaches the platform out. Where the main tower has to stand back from the wall, the bracket cantilevers the deck right up to the working surface — no extra bay, no extra standards.

Rosette Knee-out, Not a New Bay

The bracket clips into the rosette on a standard with the standard ringlock wedge, so it adds a working deck without erecting another bay. One bracket, one wedge, and the platform is extended — fast and cheap to add or remove.

Side brackets are sized by the board count: 1-board (0.31 m / 1'0"), 2-board (0.65 m / 2'2") and 3-board (0.88 m / 2'10"). Pick the bracket that matches your plank width and board count so the deck sits level and secure.

Hook-on Planks or Hop-up Seat

For hook-on steel planks the bracket carries the plank directly. Where timber or plain-end metal decks are used, choose the hop-up seat version, which holds the board on a seat built for non-hook planks.
