Infill Plank

Engineered to international standards for safety, speed and durability on every job site.

Overview

The Infill Plank — also called a steel infill deck or scaffold infill board — is a narrow steel walking surface used to fill the gaps left between standard scaffold planks or decks. At widths from 75 mm up to about 305 mm and lengths from 0.73 m to 3.07 m, it closes off spaces that would otherwise let tools, mortar or boots fall through, making platforms safer and more complete on frame, cuplock and ringlock systems.

Infill Plank - Narrow Steel Scaffold Deck

  • ISO 9001 quality with FOB Shanghai delivery

An infill plank is a narrow steel board made to bridge the spaces between wider scaffold planks or aluminum decks. Its small width lets it fit into gaps where a full-width board would be too wide, while the steel construction gives it the strength to carry foot traffic, tools and light materials. The plank is pressed from Q235 steel with a series of ribs and hook ends, then hot-dip galvanized for outdoor durability. Standard models run from 0.73 m up to 3.07 m in length, so crews can match the gap exactly without cutting. ACE SCAFFOLD manufactures infill planks under ISO 9001 quality, compliant with EN 12810 / EN 12811, ANSI, AS/NZS 1576 and OSHA, with FOB Shanghai delivery and OEM/ODM support.

An infill plank is the narrow steel board that closes the gaps between standard scaffold planks. Where a full-width board would overhang or not fit, the infill plank drops in to create a continuous walking surface and stop debris from falling through.

Fills Gaps Between Standard Planks

Standard planks and decks come in fixed widths. When bay widths do not divide evenly, a gap remains at the edge. The infill plank fits that gap to complete the platform and remove trip points.

Q235 Steel with Hot-dip Galvanizing

The plank is pressed from Q235 steel and finished with a hot-dip galvanized coating. The ribs add stiffness underfoot, and the zinc layer protects the steel from site moisture and corrosion.

Hook Ends for Quick Seating

Most models have hook ends that seat over the scaffold transom or frame ledger. They lock in place without extra clamps and can be lifted out for reconfiguration.

Lengths from 0.73 m to 3.07 m

With fifteen standard lengths, the IP73 through IP307 range covers small infill pieces up to full-bay fillers, letting crews choose the right board without site cutting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q
What is an infill plank?
An infill plank is a narrow steel scaffold board used to fill the gaps between standard-width planks or decks. It creates a continuous walking surface and stops tools or debris from falling through.
Q
What is an infill plank used for?
It is used where scaffold bay widths leave a gap at the edge of a platform. Instead of leaving an open space or cutting a full-width board, a matching infill plank drops in to close the gap safely.
Q
What material is the infill plank made of?
ACE SCAFFOLD infill planks are pressed from Q235 steel and finished with hot-dip galvanizing. The steel gives strength; the zinc coating protects against rust on outdoor and coastal sites.
Q
How wide is an infill plank?
Infill planks are narrow boards, typically from about 75 mm up to 305 mm in width. Their narrow profile lets them fit gaps that a standard 240 mm, 320 mm or 19" plank would not fill.
Q
What lengths are available?
The SIFP range includes fifteen standard lengths from 0.73 m (2'5") up to 3.07 m (10'1"): SIFP073, SIFP088, SIFP104, SIFP106, SIFP109, SIFP115, SIFP140, SIFP157, SIFP182, SIFP207, SIFP213, SIFP243, SIFP257, SIFP305 and SIFP307.
Q
How much does an infill plank weigh?
Weights range from 3.37 kgs for the 0.73 m SIFP073 up to 14.18 kgs for the 3.07 m SIFP307. Mid-length models such as SIFP157 (1.57 m) weigh about 6.83 kgs.
Q
How does the infill plank attach to the scaffold?
The plank has hook ends that seat over the scaffold transom or ledger. The hooks prevent uplift and sideways movement, and no extra couplers or clamps are needed.
Q
Can infill planks be used on different scaffold systems?
Yes. The hook ends fit common frame, cuplock and ringlock transoms, so the same infill plank can be used across different system types on one project.
Q
Why choose a steel infill plank over wood?
Steel infill planks resist warping, splitting, moisture and fire better than timber. They also give a consistent width and load capacity, and their hook ends lock onto the scaffold without nailing or blocking.
Q
Do infill planks meet scaffold standards?
ACE SCAFFOLD manufactures infill planks under ISO 9001 quality management, compliant with EN 12810 / EN 12811, ANSI, AS/NZS 1576 and OSHA requirements.
Q
Can the infill plank be used as a primary walking surface?
Infill planks are designed mainly for closing gaps alongside full-width primary planks. They can carry foot traffic and light materials, but the main working surface should be built from standard-width boards rated for the intended load.
Q
Can I get custom lengths or surface finishes?
Yes. ACE SCAFFOLD offers OEM/ODM services, including custom lengths, surface treatments and packaging. Contact us with your project dimensions and quantity.
