The Swivel Clamp American Heavy Type is a swivel coupler that joins two scaffold tubes at an adjustable angle rather than a fixed 90 degrees. One half grips the first 48.3 mm outside-diameter tube; the other half is mounted on a swivel joint around the central bolt so it can rotate to meet the second tube at the angle the layout needs. It is the heavy-duty fitting for bracing, offset connections and irregular tube runs on tube-and-clamp scaffolding, and is also used to tie a brace across an existing tube line. The forged steel body keeps the joint rigid once the bolt is tightened, and the hot dip galvanized finish resists corrosion on site. How the Swivel Joint Works

The clamp has two forged halves. One half cradles the first 48.3 mm OD tube; the other half is carried on a swivel joint around the central bolt, so it can rotate freely until it lines up with the second tube. Tightening the bolt locks both tubes firmly in place.

Built as a heavy-duty coupler, the swivel clamp keeps the angled joint rigid under working load. The forged steel construction takes the side and twist loads that a swivelling member would otherwise pass into the scaffold.
