Overview

The Ringlock Scaffolding Crazy Leg — also called a guardrail post crazy leg or guard rail crazy leg — is a bent guardrail standard used to create a guarded opening in the side protection of a ringlock scaffold. It drops into the rosette like any guardrail post, but its offset "crazy" leg carries the top rail across a swing-gate or ladder-access opening so the handrail stays continuous and crews can pass through safely.

On site, a crazy leg is the answer when a platform needs a protected opening rather than a solid run of guardrail. Mounted on a standard at deck level, it holds the guardrail line over the gap, and an extra ledger fixed one rosette below the deck ties the post back so the opening stays rigid and safe under load. The post is rolled from Ø48.3×3.2 mm high-strength steel, hot-dip galvanized for site, coastal and offshore service, and built to EN 12810 / EN 12811, ANSI, AS/NZS 1576 and OSHA with a 4:1 safety factor. It carries the standard ringlock wedge head, so it locks into the rosette exactly like a normal guardrail post and works with the same standards, planks and brackets as the rest of the system — supplied under ISO 9001 quality from ACE SCAFFOLD, FOB Shanghai.
