The Cuplock Cantilever Extension Adapter - also called a cuplock cantilever bracket or cuplock extension adapter - is a forged steel fitting that drops into a cuplock cup node on a standard and carries a cantilever arm so a working platform or ledger can project horizontally beyond the standard. It seats with a forged blade that drops into the bottom cup and locks with the top cup, turning any cup node into a cantilever support point. On a cuplock scaffold, the cuplock cantilever extension adapter is the way to push a working platform or line of ledgers past the last standard without setting a standard out there. The adapter seats on a cuplock standard at any cup node: a forged blade drops into the welded bottom cup and the forged top cup is tapped down to lock it with a single hammer blow, so the fitting is held rigidly on the standard while the rest of the node stays free for ledgers and braces. From that node the adapter carries a cantilever arm or spigot that reaches out beyond the standard, so a platform, walkway or row of transoms can be projected over a wall, column, machine or edge where a standard cannot stand. Because the adapter uses the cuplock cup node rather than a loose clamp, nothing projects into the climbing space and the bay keeps its standard geometry.
