Cuplock Vertical Clamp

Engineered to international standards for safety, speed and durability on every job site.

Overview

The Cuplock Vertical Clamp - also called a clamp-on-leg or cuplock clamp-on-vertical - is a forged steel fitting that locks onto a horizontal ledger or truss and receives a cuplock vertical standard, so a scaffold builder can drop an additional vertical column between two existing standards without disturbing the cup-lock joints. The clamp jaws grip the ledger tube and the upper socket takes the vertical, forming a rigid off-horizontal connection used to build bays, offsets and irregular layouts. Offered as the CVC model at 3.1 kgs in hot-dip galvanized steel, it is built to OSHA, ANSI and CSA guidelines with a 4:1 safety factor, ISO 9001 quality and FOB Shanghai delivery from ACE SCAFFOLD.

Key Features

  • Forged Q235/Q345 carbon steel body, hot-dip galvanized after machining
  • Locks onto an existing ledger or truss and receives a cuplock vertical standard
  • Adds an extra vertical column between two vertices without touching cup nodes
  • Standard model CVC, 3.1 kgs unit weight
  • Built to OSHA, ANSI and CSA guidelines with a 4:1 safety factor, ISO 9001, FOB Shanghai

The Cuplock Vertical Clamp turns any horizontal member into a takeoff point for a vertical standard. Rather than starting every column at a base collar or cup node, the clamp grabs a ledger or truss already in the structure and presents a vertical socket above it, which is how crews build an extra column between two vertices, close a bay, or push a line of standards past an obstacle. The forged body wraps the ledger tube with a set screw or wedge lock, and the upper receiver is sized for the standard OD so the vertical drops in and holds square. Because the connection is made away from the cup node, the regular cuplock geometry of the surrounding bay is left untouched - no standards need to be cut, sleeved or re-cup-locked. In use the fitting is common on shoring towers, facade screens, stair towers and any build where the grid has to bend around a column, duct or machine. Every unit is hot-dip galvanized after fabrication, so the coating reaches the inside of the jaws and the threads, and the 3.1 kg forged body carries the same OSHA, ANSI and CSA load assumptions as the rest of the cuplock system with ISO 9001 quality control and FOB Shanghai supply from ACE SCAFFOLD.

Cuplock Vertical Clamp

The Cuplock Vertical Clamp is a forged steel fitting that locks onto a horizontal ledger or truss and receives a cuplock vertical standard, so an additional vertical column can be dropped between two existing standards.

Clamp-On Action

The forged jaws grip the ledger or truss tube with a set screw or wedge lock, and the upper socket is sized for the standard OD so the vertical drops in and holds square. Because the connection is made away from the cup node, the surrounding bay keeps its standard cuplock geometry - no standards need to be cut, sleeved or re-cup-locked.

Build Where The Grid Bends

The fitting turns any horizontal member into a takeoff point, which is how crews build an extra column between two vertices, close a bay, or push a line of standards past an obstacle such as a column, duct or machine.

Hot-dip Galvanized

Every Cuplock Vertical Clamp is hot-dip galvanized Q235/Q345 carbon steel after fabrication for corrosion resistance on site, coastal and offshore work, built to OSHA, ANSI and CSA guidelines with a 4:1 safety factor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q
What is a cuplock vertical clamp used for?
It locks onto a horizontal ledger or truss and receives a cuplock vertical standard, so you can build an additional vertical column between two existing standards - closing a bay, adding an offset, or routing a line of standards around an obstacle.
Q
How does the vertical clamp attach to the scaffold?
The forged jaws grip the ledger or truss tube with a set screw or wedge lock, and the upper socket is sized for the standard OD so the column drops in and stays square. The cup-lock joints of the surrounding bay are not disturbed.
Q
What size vertical does the CVC take?
The receiver is sized for the standard OD used across the cuplock system (Ø48.3 mm tube), matching the rest of the ACE SCAFFOLD cuplock components.
Q
What material and finish is the clamp?
Forged Q235/Q345 carbon steel, hot-dip galvanized after fabrication so the coating reaches inside the jaws and threads. Unit weight is 3.1 kgs as the CVC model.
Q
What standards does it meet?
Built to OSHA, ANSI and CSA guidelines with a 4:1 safety factor, produced under ISO 9001 quality control and supplied FOB Shanghai from ACE SCAFFOLD.
