Base Collar

Engineered to international standards for safety, speed and durability on every job site.

Overview

The Base Collar - also called a ringlock base collar or scaffold base collar - is a cast steel sleeve that sits at the foot of a ringlock standard and provides the rosette connection point at ground level. It connects a ringlock standard to a screw jack or base plate so the tower starts from a stable, level base while keeping the standard ringlock geometry and rosette spacing.

Base Collar - Ringlock Scaffold Base Component

Key Features

  • Cast Q235 steel base collar
  • Adds a rosette at the foot of the standard
  • Connects standard to screw jack or base plate
  • Keeps standard ringlock geometry and spacing
  • Hot-dip galvanized for outdoor durability
  • Standard model RBC-S, 1.7 kgs unit weight
  • Compliant with EN 12810 / EN 12811, ANSI, AS/NZS 1576 and OSHA
  • ISO 9001 quality with FOB Shanghai delivery

A base collar is the ground-level hub of a ringlock bay. The cast steel sleeve slips over the end of a standard and carries a rosette so ledgers, guardrails and bracing can attach at the very bottom of the tower, exactly as they do at every higher level. Below the collar, the standard meets a screw jack or base plate, so the whole assembly stands plumb and level on uneven ground. The RBC-S model weighs 1.7 kgs and is hot-dip galvanized for outdoor durability. ACE SCAFFOLD manufactures base collars under ISO 9001 quality with FOB Shanghai delivery.

A base collar is the component that gives a ringlock tower a proper starting point. By carrying a rosette at the foot of the standard, it lets the bottom bay use the same connections as every other level.

Ground-Level Rosette Connection

A ringlock bay normally starts with a bare standard on a base plate. A base collar adds a rosette at that lowest point, so ledgers and guardrails can lock in right above the base instead of leaving a weak, open first lift.

Stable, Level Start

The collar seats the standard onto a screw jack or base plate and holds it square. Crews can fine-tune the height and plumb the tower on sloping or uneven ground before the rest of the bay is built.

Cast Steel Construction

The collar body is cast from Q235 steel for strength and dimensional accuracy, then hot-dip galvanized to resist rust on outdoor sites. It matches the standard ringlock rosette pattern used across the system.

One Standard Model RBC-S

RBC-S is the standard base collar, weighing 1.7 kgs. It fits the standard ringlock standard and accepts the common 48.3 mm tube diameter used by most modular systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q
What is a base collar?
A base collar is a cast steel sleeve that fits over the foot of a ringlock standard and carries a rosette, so ledgers and guardrails can connect at the ground level of the tower.
Q
What is the RBC-S model?
RBC-S is the standard base collar. It has a unit weight of 1.7 kgs and is designed to connect a ringlock standard to a screw jack or base plate.
Q
How does a base collar attach to the standard?
The collar slips over the end of the standard and seats against the base, then locks the rosette in place so the bottom bay uses the same connections as every higher level.
Q
What tube size does the base collar fit?
Base collars are made for the standard 48.3 mm scaffold tube used in ringlock, cuplock and frame systems.
Q
Why use a base collar instead of a plain base plate?
A plain base plate only supports the standard. A base collar also adds a rosette at the foot, so the first lift gets the same ledger and guardrail connections as the rest of the tower.
Q
What material is the base collar made from?
ACE SCAFFOLD base collars are cast from Q235 steel and finished with a hot-dip galvanized coating for strength and corrosion resistance.
Q
How much does a base collar weigh?
The RBC-S base collar weighs 1.7 kgs per piece.
Q
Can base collars be used on all ringlock systems?
They fit standard ringlock rosette patterns with the common 48.3 mm tube diameter. If your system uses a different rosette spacing or hole size, contact us for compatibility.
Q
Are base collars reusable?
Yes. The cast steel and galvanized finish give them a long service life, and they can be installed, removed and reused across multiple projects.
Q
Do base collars meet scaffold standards?
ACE SCAFFOLD base collars are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality management and are suitable for use in systems compliant with EN 12810 / EN 12811, ANSI, AS/NZS 1576 and OSHA.
Q
Can I order base collars with custom finishes?
Yes. ACE SCAFFOLD offers OEM/ODM services including custom surface treatments, packaging and labeling. Contact us with your project requirements and quantity.
Q
What is the difference between a base collar and a screw jack?
A screw jack is the adjustable leveling foot. A base collar is the rosette sleeve that sits on top of the jack and gives the standard its first connection point, so the two work together at the base of the tower.
